How We Help

Wednesday Meal

Mission First hosts a weekly meal for takeout starting at 6pm each Wednesday evening.  Many community groups cook and serve the meal on Wednesday evenings. It is a fun filled evening of eating, talking, laughing and fellowship. Donations of paper products, individual wrapped snacks, individual bags of chips, etc. can be made by calling 610-325-0560.

Baskets of Hope

Baskets of Hope is an outreach ministry that provides a jump start to individuals moving into a home for the first time.  This transition can be daunting, so we are helping by providing a few essentials. Each basket will contain initial cleaning supplies, kitchen items such as dishes and pans, and linens.

We are thrilled to help spread a little HOPE as you take your next step.

Sample Contents

Baskets of Hope is a significant endeavor.  We need a lot of supplies to prepare each basket.   We do not know how many individuals will be placed in permanent housing each month, but we need to be prepared. Some items are new, but others can be lightly used. Please visit our Donation page to see how you can help.

Donations for the Baskets of Hope

Clothing Closet

Held Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, from 9 to 12. We have an assortment of clothing, toiletry items and some household items. Donations are greatly appreciated and the items needed list can be found by clicking on the “Current Needs at Mission First” button at the top of the homepage.

Emergency Food 24/7

Food is available 7 days a week / 24 hours a day at our Food House and Fridge located in front of the church on High Street. This food helps hold individuals/families over until they can get to a regular food bank.  The Food House supplies nonperishable items such as individual servings of canned chicken and tuna, soups, peanut butter / jelly / crackers, and small snacks. The Food Fridge is stocked with fresh fruits and vegetables, eggs, sandwiches, and prepared meals.

 Donations are greatly appreciated.

Outdoor Mobile Phone Charging Station

A free mobile phone charging station is being installed on the large parking lot side of the building. It will accommodate iPhones as well as Android devices.

Lending Library

The Book House located in front of the church on High Street is stocked with a variety of fiction and non-fiction books. Anyone is welcome to borrow a book, read it, and then decide if you want to keep it or return it for someone else to enjoy.

Lunch Program

Mission First provides lunch to the Mental Health Recovery Center on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. On Tuesday’s, lunch is a bagged meal, prepared for both MHP and Street Medicine so that both may furnish a meal to their clients that day. Any leftover bagged lunches are taken by the Street Medicine doctors so they  have them for anyone they meet in their travels that day who may be hungry.

Mission First makes sandwiches everyday for distribution to those in need through our sidewalk refrigerator.

Please check back often as new ministries are frequently added.
