Volunteering at Mission First can be a rewarding experience.
Please review the following forms, which must be printed, signed and returned to the MissionFirst office before volunteering or participating in activities at MissionFirst Pottstown.
Current Volunteer Opportunities
Clothing Closet:
Inspect size clothing, and arrange clothing on shelves and racks. Help clients with their needs.
Food pantry:
Receive donations, sort, tag and store for distribution.
Verify suitability of perishable items for distribution. Bag bulk items in suitable bags for distribution.
Containerize prepared foods, label and seal as required for distribution.
Prepare and bag sandwiches for distribution.
Re-stock food hut and place perishable items in the sidewalk refrigerator.
Shop for food items and supplies necessary to support food distribution i.e. mustard packets, plastic bags, containers, etc.
Wednesday Night Meal:
Provide approximately 140 packaged take-out meals for sidewalk distribution. Meals generally include servings of protein, appropriate starch and vegetable portions, fruit and desert. Support distribution by setting up distribution facilities, packaging of individual meals, distribute meals to those in need and occasionally help with meal preparation.
Lunch Preparation:
Prepare cooked lunch for MHP clients being served on Monday. Wednesday and Fridays.
Prepare bagged lunches for MHP clients and for distribution by Street Medicine personnel on Tuesdays.
Baskets of Hope:
Receive, sort and store various household items such as pots, pans, dishes, sheets, towels, pillow cases and cleaning supplies. Prepare box/bag of items for pick-up from listing received through various housing support groups. Delivery to client is normally through the support group.
Mission First Facility Maintenance:
General maintenance of facility to include clean-up of both the internal building areas as well as outside areas, minor building repairs, inspection and scheduling of various outside contractor support requirements and seasonal/event decoration and set-up.

Mission First Release of Waiver and Liability Form
By completing and submitting this volunteer waiver, I agree to release and hold harmless Mission First, its employees, agents and volunteers, from, but not limited to, all illness, harm, loss, accidents, personal injury or property damage suffered by myself or said members of my group as a result of involvement with Mission First, its employees or contracted agents and its related entities and all associated programs. I do this on behalf of myself and any of my heirs, estates, personal representatives and assignees.
